As a tutor I think this is the best tool I have seen to teach employability to students with SEND. The breakdown of jobs into sectors with details about skills needed and information about what each job entails is excellent. The links to live jobs are wonderful and accessible for our learners. The videos are informative and good visuals for our learners. The audio bar is also excellent as many of our readers wouldn’t read all the information on a page.
We’ve chosen twenty-one key sectors to help you explore an array of different career options that may not require formal qualifications for our SEND young people who are educated in special school. These sectors range from business and healthcare to hospitality and engineering & maintenance.
Within each sector you will find jobs giving you an overview of the role, job activities, organisations that may employ you, working environment, starting salary and general entry requirements. Links to external vacancies and video content are also included as are links to current vacancies. The easy to use 3-colour traffic light system allows users to find out quickly if formal qualifications would be required.
To help you navigate through the world of work, make the right career choice and find the right job we’ve set up the Information Hub. This contains a wealth of information and resources from post-16 study options to employment support to a wide range of careers information.

Your Future Black Country is a fabulous tool kit for the students to use. It gives them a visual look at the job sector in a way they are able to understand LMI seeing what jobs are available at their level of ability without making them feel undervalued
Your Future Black Country is so amazing! Honestly, we have spent hours with students looking at different things and it has everything we need!
The speaking bar is an invaluable part of this site, as it gives them the option to have spoken help if required, this also supports their reading enabling them to start recognising new words.
